Coating process consists of applying special lacquers or varnishes on a plastic or metallic film. Depending on their composition, these coatings give the product specific features.
Some examples of the most common coatings are:

- Heat sealing coatings
- Anti-fog coatings for food packaging films
Laminating is the process through which two or more plastic or metallic films are joined together by an adhesive layer. This allows the resulting multilayer structure to improve its mechanical, electrical, chemical or physical properties depending on materials used, thus overcoming the intrinsic limits of every single material.
Effegidi International has technologically advanced machinery, amongst which some laminating machines working solvent-less that do not produce emissions and do not need ovens for solvent vaporization. This allows us to save energy and reduce environmental impact, in accordance with the Company’s commitment towards environmental sustainability.
Through this process and thanks to our technical staff’s expertise, we can produce many different types of laminates, standard or customized, from 22 µm thickness on. During this phase we also can apply different surface treatments to give the product specific properties.
Slitting process allows to cut standard width master rolls in order to obtain pads or spools with the desired width depending on customer’s need.
We can produce pads or spools from a minimum width of 5 mm to a maximum of 2300 mm, with different inner and outer diameters. Minimum thickness we can handle is 7 µm and maximum one is 350 µm.
